Caroline Gardner has collaborated with Waitrose on this charity jute bag in aid of Meningitis Now.
After keeping it under wraps for a long time we are hugely proud to announce that we will be continuing our amazing partnership with Meningitis Now and this time joining forces with Waitrose and Jutexpo, the world’s biggest supplier of reusable jute bags, to produce a new shopping bag, in aid of UK charity Meningitis Now.
The bags are made from juco, a blend of jute and cotton, and feature a unique design. They are due to be launched in Waitrose stores across the country this month!
The new Caroline Gardner X Meniingitis Now juco bag design was inspired by one of Caroline’s designs for the SS18 collection, called Green Dreamer. The fun abstract floral print, as seen on the water bottle below, is complemented by the bold orange stripe in the gusset. Perfect for the farmers market or used for a picnic this bag also doubles up as a beach bag too.
Available in Waitrose stores across the country from the end of February
Shoppers will be able to buy the environmentally friendly bags for £5, with 50p from each sale going to Meningitis Now, which works to help those suffering from or affected by the disease.
Meningitis Now is a cause very close to Caroline Gardner’s heart. Founders Caroline and Angus chose the charity 15 years ago, having had a personal experience with the illness when their then six-month-old son, Sebastian contracted Meningococcal Septicaemia. Thankfully he recovered and the family looked to help raise awareness through fund raising on behalf of Meningitis Now.
During that time we have raised over £100,000 for the charity through the sale of Caroline Gardner Christmas cards.
“We are so pleased to have been able to help bring this bag to the market. Meningitis Now is a fabulous charity and I feel sure that the new Green Dreamer print will help build upon the success that these fabulous reusable bags enjoy in Waitrose.”
Meningitis Now is the founder of the meningitis movement and the only charity dedicated to fighting meningitis in the UK.With 30 years’ experience, they are working towards a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.
Meningitis Now fights the disease on all fronts:
• Providing a powerful, united voice for people fighting meningitis.
• Saving lives by funding vaccine and preventative research.
• Reducing the disease’s impact through awareness.
• Rebuilding futures with dedicated support.
• Fundraising to deliver our plans.
• To be there for everyone affected by meningitis, spread lifesaving awareness about the disease and fund research into it, they need over £3 million every year. Without any central Government funding, they rely on people like you to help us raise it.
Without your help, Meningitis Now wouldn’t be able to help people cope after meningitis; we couldn’t support them as they face a life that will never be the same again.
