Thinking of you week

As a nation, we have a long-standing relationship with sending greetings cards. The first ever card was sent by Sir Henry Cole, Founder of the V&A Museum in 1843, and this method of pen to paper communication has continued ever since. The 19th-25th September marks this year’s ‘Thinking of You’ week. Launching in 2014 by the Greeting Card Association (GSA), this week encourages everyone to send handwritten cards to different people; harnessing the joy and love found in sending and receiving snail mail.

This is a special week for the team here at Caroline Gardner, as the celebration of greeting cards speaks to the core of who we are as a brand. Caroline started creating cards by hand from her kitchen table in 1993. Though she enjoyed the process of making, she enjoyed even more the feeling that the person receiving the card would appreciate the time and effort she had put in. While our designs are now mostly created digitally, we still take the same time and care in creating cards that are a joy to send and mean a lot to receive.

To celebrate Thinking of You week, we are sending a selection of cards from our “Thinking of you” range to twelve of our lovely stockists. This is little gift from us and a way of encouraging them to send handwritten cards to their customers and friends in their local area and beyond. This Thinking of You week, spread the joy of a handwritten card, and in doing so, spread smiles and happy thoughts far and wide!
